Ana Tana was born in Serbia where she graduated with Bachelor of Arts from The University of Musical Arts in Belgrade. She continued her graduate studies at The City University of New York with the principal of American Ballet Theater and one of the America's most exciting flutists Judith Mendenhall.Ana holds Advanced Certificate in Classical Performance from Aaron Copland School of Music, CUNY and she is also currently pursuing Master of Music degree at the same school. Ana has participated in many concert activities as a soloist, member of orchestra and chamber ensembles in all the major concert halls in Serbia and abroad. Besides the flute as a major instrument, she finished elementary school for opera singing, and also studied piano and harp. She won numerous awards at the national, international competitions and festivals as soloist and a chamber musician. Ana has recorded for the national TV and collaborated with many award-winning singers. Ana has also organized and performed at many successful benefit concerts in New York, such as MC Gallery, St. Sava Cathedral, Park Avenue, The Yard Space on 5th Avenue, “Artist without walls” showcase at The Cell Theater in Manhattan, Bohemian National Hall and many others. Ana also appeared as a soloist with Jackson Heights Orchestra at St. Joseph’s Church in Astoria and St. Mark’s Church in Queens. As a special guest invited by The Tesla Science foundation, she performed at the scientific gala event in Philadelphia. Most recently she recorded the new single for the winner of MTV European Music Award, an eminent singer, composer and songwriter Aleksandra Kovac. Ana is very passionate about teaching and love working with children. She has over 10 years of experience teaching flute, piano and music theory to children of all ages. Ana actively teaches in NYC area and she is an artist in residence and part of Music Ministry at St. Joseph’s Roman Catolic Church in Astoria. She also performs in wedding ceremonies and private events across the New York City.

As one of the most exciting flautists of her generation Ana Tana truly believes that there is no heart that could live without art! Frederic Chopin’s words “Put all your soul into it, play the way you feel” can be easily recognized in her sound. Ana’s first meeting with the flute was at the age of 10. She couldn’t even imagine that this magical instrument will become her biggest passion. Playing a flute is the love that will last forever. Since her early childhood she used to sing all the time and after couple of years studying an opera singing, she started creating her own voice on the flute. The whole idea of singing on the flute resulted in many collaborations with award-winning singers.

Ana was born in Belgrade, Serbia where she attended the elementary and music high school Josip Slavenski. She finished her undergraduate studies for classical performance at the University of Music Arts in Belgrade, in the class of professor Mr. Miomir Simonovic with the highest marks.

During her studies she has participated in many concert activities organized by her school and the university as a soloist, member of orchestra and chamber ensembles in all main concert halls and on the biggest stages in her native Belgrade, across the country and abroad, such as a Kolarac Music Hall, The Old Palace - House of the City Assembly of Belgrade, National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Children’s Belgrade cultural center, The Cervantes Institute. She has performed at many gala events in Europe and the United States. Besides the flute as a major instrument, during her music education she also studied opera singing, piano and harp. She won numerous awards and prizes as a soloist, chamber and orchestra musician at both the national and international competitions and festivals. Ana also recorded for the national TV. She has attended diverse master classes with renowned flautists and musicians from all over the Europe, United States, Australia and Asia. Ana now lives in New York City, where she continued her graduate studies in classical performance at the Aaron Copland School of Music, City University of New York with one of the America's most exciting flutists, Judith Mendenhall.

Ana played at a very successful benefit concerts at MC Gallery organized by Leitmotiv Arts and at St. Sava Cathedral in New York City. As one of the soloists she performed the series of Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos with Jackson Heights Chamber Orchestra at St. Joseph’s and St. Mark’s Church in Queens. She was invited as a special guest by The Tesla Science foundation to perform at the scientific gala event in Philadelphia. With the founder of New York Artist Management and renowned pianist Jasna Popovic supported by Graduate Student Advisory Council, Ana recently played the recital for flute and piano at Lerner Hall at the Columbia University.

Ana’s favorite collaborations are with singers. Her repertoire includes from Bach’s Arias, classical operas, through the popular music and traditional Balkan songs. Ana has recorded and collaborated with many well known and award winning singers. With her trio for flute, voice and piano with Macedonian singer Gabriela Gjorgeva, under the award-winning baritone and vocal technique teacher to hundreds of elite performers in world-class musical performances Dr William Riley, she has performed at the very successful “Artist without walls” showcase at The Cell Theater in Manhattan.

Ana also actively plays wedding ceremonies in New York City. Most recently at the RA production music studios in Belgrade in February 2016, she recorded the new single for the Winner of the Best Adriatic Act Award at the MTV Europe Music Awards, an eminent film, TV and theater composer, singer and songwriter Aleksandra Kovac.
